Antiochian Women

No church is ever complete without the Tender Loving Care of its mothers and sisters. These ladies make up what is known as the Antiochian Women. The members meet once a month. Their activities range from the spiritual to the colorful, and everything in between.

Choir

Among the reasons that candles and incense are used in the Orthodox church is to invoke all of our senses for the Glory of God. Our voices play an important role in this mission. Traditionally, St. Mary’s has utilized both a full choir, as well as cantors, to sing the responses and other hymns. We strive to find musically inclined parishioners who are willing to put their talents to good use, and are committed to a well disciplined choir agenda. Please talk to the choir director if you are interested in joining.

The Fellowship of St. John the Divine

The Fellowship of St. John the Divine is our ministry for all adults college age and up. If you are an adult, in college, or out, and you would like to meet  with other Orthodox Christians, the Fellowship of St. John is the place for you. The Fellowship sponsors the various ministries in the church. This has been an enormous success and continues to grow. We also have social activities and humanitarian projects throughout the year.

The Order of St. Ignatius

Perhaps the single most important event to help guarantee the long term success of our Archdiocese is the establishment of the Order of St. Ignatius. Many projects and programs were instituted under the leadership of the Order of St. Ignatius. Among their major accomplishments is the building of our Antiochian Village with its Heritage and Learning Center, as well as the funding of a retirement plan to make sure our beloved clergy retire in a deservingly dignified fashion.

Sunday School

Our Lord commanded His Disciples, “Let the little children come to Me…, for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 19:14), and we strive to obey this command. The goal of our Sunday school program is to instill the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the hearts, minds and souls of our children. Our curriculum is that of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese (www.antiochian.org), published by the Orthodox Christian Education Commission (www.orthodoxed.org).

Teen SOYO

Commonly referred to as Teen SOYO (Society of Orthodox Youth Organizations), this organization is dedicated to providing church-based forum to teens attending St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church. We believe that the youth of our church are vital to the continuity of the Faith. Meetings are held every other month. In addition to this, the group also meets at least twice per month for other activities.
